Objective of Scholarship

The scheme caters total number of 200 Fellowship [Junior Research Fellows (JRF)] per year to students with disabilities. The scheme covers all universities/ institutions recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and Non-Universities/ Institutions and is implemented by the UGC itself on the pattern of the scheme of UGC Fellowship being awarded to research students pursuing M.Phil. and Ph.D. These fellowships will be available to students with disabilities who are covered under. The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995. Thus, a person with disability who wishes to avail the benefit under the Act has to obtain a disability certificate from the medical authority notified for the purpose

Eligibility Conditions

• Any student with disabilities who is already registered to M.Phil./Ph.D. degree in a University or academic institution by completing the required formalities for admission in that University or academic institution is eligible for the award of Fellowship, subject to provision of the scheme as per the advertisement of UGC. The candidate must get himself/herself registered for M.Phil/Ph.D at the first available opportunity but not later than within a period of two years from the receipt of award letter. This period is not extendable. However, the actual payment of fellowship will be made with effect from the date of joining only.
• After two years, if the progress in the research works of the awardee is found satisfactory, his/her tenure will be extended for a further period of three years as Senior Research Fellowship (SRF). The research work will be assessed by a three member committee set up by the University. The committee will consist of the Supervisor, Head of the Department and one outside expert in the subject. JRF may be terminated in case the progress of the candidate is not found satisfactory by the committee. The SRF shall be sanctioned on year to year basis on the recommendation of the Supervisor of the candidate duly accepted/rejected by the Head of the Department and finally approved by the Vice-Chancellor. The total period of award of JRF and SRF shall not exceed a period of five years. The fellowship is paid from the date of registration of the students in M.Phil./Ph.D. course.
• The students with disabilities once considered eligible for the fellowship shall not be entitled to any other benefits from Central or State Government or any other body like UGC offering similar benefit to avoid duplication and increase coverage. Only those doing regular and full time M.Phil./Ph.D. course of a University/Research Institution shall be eligible for the fellowship. Employees of any University/College/Educational Institution/Central/State/UT Government shall be excluded from availing Fellowship, even if they are on Study Leave or EOL to pursue the M.Phil./Ph.D. course.

Objective of Scholarship

The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to Schedule tribes students of Arunachal Pradesh so as to enable them to pursue various courses of Higher studies approved by Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

Eligibility Conditions

Eligibility Conditions

• The scholarships are awarded on the basis of the results of senior secondary examination. 82000 fresh scholarships per annum (41000 for boys and 41000 for girls) for graduate/post-graduate studies in colleges and universities and for professional courses, such as Medical, Engineering, etc. could be provided.

Eligibility Conditions

• A person with disability having not less than 40% disability and having a disability certificate issued by any competent medical authority.

Eligibility Conditions

• The Income ceiling of the beneficiary’s parents/guardians should not exceed Rs.4.5 Lacs per annum. An income certificate in original from competent authority must be submitted with hardcopy of application form.

Eligibility Conditions

• These stipends and book grants are available for studies in India only and shall be awarded by the North Eastern States.
• The stipends and book grants are open only to a candidate who is a permanent resident of any of the States in the North East. The certificate to this effect obtained from the Deputy Commissioner of the district in which the candidate is a permanent resident must be produced by the candidate. Certificate from any other authority will not be accepted.
• The candidate should possess the relevant qualification from any recognized institution. An original certificate from the Institution of study must be produced by the candidate.
• The student must not be in receipt of any other financial assistance from any other source, except National or State Merit Scholarship. A sponsored candidate under full employment during the period of study shall not be eligible to receive the stipend.
• Financial assistance of stipend/book grant shall be admissible to students taking admission in the courses specified hereinafter in all institutes recognized by the Ministry of Human Resource Development/respective Ministry of the Government of India.
• The stipend/book grant shall be tenable for the prescribed duration of a course. A student failing to pass in a particular year shall not receive further stipend till he/she passes the specific year of the course. The Institution shall certify to that effect and make specific recommendations thereto.
• In-service candidates are not covered by this scheme.
• The maximum marks for the grant of stipend should be 55% for General/OBC/MOBC candidates in the relevant qualifying examination for Diploma, Degree and Post-Graduate courses.

LPU defines different phases of admissions depending on the time an applicant registers himself/herself with the University. The Scholarship as mentioned in above table is for the first phase of admission. Subsequent phase of admission may be defined as per the availability of seats, where the scholarship will be reduced.

• All other conditions as mentioned under the head “Terms and Conditions for LPU-Scholarship and its different phases” in Part B of Prospectus-2023 will also be applicable.

• Minimum 2 years’ work-experience requirement for the scholarship before submitting the application.
• Only Full-time employment will be considered for the calculation of work experience.
• The work experience gained only after completing the graduation will be counted for this purpose.
• Full time internships as part of the graduation programme will not be considered for the calculation of two years ‘requirement.
• The work experience need not be from a single employer. The candidate can submit the work experience from different employers but a minimum of 6 months experience from 1 employer will be required for the above calculation i.e. if the applicant has worked only for less than 6 months with a particular employer the same will not be considered for the calculation of two years of experience.
• Applicant may be called for a personal interview to validate the claims and documents submitted.
